InterSpiritual, InterFaith Seminaries/ Educational Organizations
Enough cannot be said about AWAIC’s view of the importance of education — about the InterFaith and InterSpiritual points of view, about the ongoing shift on our planet, and for our development and growth for ministry as InterFaith and InterSpiritual ministers. Professionalism demands it.
AWAIC provides this listing of educational institutions and seminaries as a service to those seeking to explore InterFaith / InterSpiritual education and ordination.
These seminaries offer substantial, layered, ministry training programs. Some offer only in-person on-site classes and training, others offer an in-person OR distance learning programs with a limited in-person requirement, while still others offer mentored on-line or distance learning programs. One, the iNtuitive Times Institute, is in Canada, the International Academy of Interfaith Studies is based in Mexico, while the OneSpirit Foundation’s minister training is at One Spirit UK, so obviously, it is based in the UK.
Explore these seminaries with excerpts from the seminaries’ own self-descriptions. Links are also provided to their websites for further exploration. This is a partial listing and is not, in any way, to be considered an endorsement. The selection of a learning organization is the sole responsibility of the seeker.
Living the Prayer of Jesus: An Introduction to the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic
Instructor: Rev. Dr. Stephanie Rutt
Dates: Weeks of Sept. 10, 2018 through the week of October 15, 2018
Format: TBD (Zoom, Go To Meeting, etc.)
Audience: World AWAKE members and extended communities
Description: This will be a 6-week on online course using my book, Living the Prayer of Jesus: A Study of the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic. Each week participants will learn a line of the prayer in Aramaic and will be invited to share thoughts and reflections from the reading. In addition, participants will be encouraged to take the prayer, line by line, into a daily spiritual practice in order to experience the full impact of this well-known prayer in Aramaic.
Goals: Participant will learn the prayer in Aramaic and will understand the expanded meanings emerging from the prayer through the experience of the Aramaic language.
Details: This will be my first online course so I'm still in the process of learning how that works. I would love to have a Zoom or Go To Meeting type of format so we can both see and hear one another. I would prefer to keep to 8-10 participants for the first offering but that could change as I learn more about what is possible through the technology.
Contact: Please contact Rev. Dr. Stephanie Rutt for additional details.
